Multi Purpose Auracast Receivers and Accessories

Manufacturers have been thinking hard about how to use Auracast. Below are some of the uses that we have recently learned about.

Phone Dongles: Almost everyone has Bluetooth earbuds, headphones, or hearing aids! These new ingenious USB-C/Lightning phone dongles along with a companion phone app, will allow you to listen to Auracast broadcasts using your existing Bluetooth devices!

Wearable Receivers: These look like the ones you may have seen with existing assistive listening systems: small, portable, clip-on wearable, and with 3.5mm audio out jack. Wired earbuds, headphones, or neckloops can be plugged into the audio out jack.

Speakers: It’s super convenient to be able to place speakers around the room without the need to run cables everywhere. Auracast is very low latency and you won’t notice any delay in sound between devices.

Neck Loops: Can be plugged into a wearable Auracast receiver and worn around the neck. Audio from the receiver is converted to magnetic energy that is read by hearing aids to reproduce the audio. A limited number of hearing aids support this process know as T-Coil or Telecoil. If your hearing aids support it, a T-Coil program has to be configured by your hearing aid professional to make it work. This is still an option for older hearing aids that support T-Coil, but not Auracast.

Adapter Cables: These cables take audio from a 3.5mm wearable Auracast receiver and transform it into a USB-C plug and play audio adapter. This will allow you to take the Auracast broadcast and use it in a Zoom meeting or YouTube stream. This cable will work with phones or computers. For example with Zoom select the Microphone/“USB PnP Audio Device” this will include the Auracast broadcast audio into your meeting.
