About AudioBroadcast.org
Three years ago, my church asked me to help monitor building issues in three meetinghouses. Soon after, a woman approached me because she couldn't hear the meetings. She could only hear in one ear and relied on a single hearing aid.
Helping her hear and understand the meeting for the first time was incredibly rewarding.
She first used a neck loop with a Listen Technologies ListenFM assistive listening receiver. Recently, after I setup an Auracast transmitter, I saw her again. She proudly showed me her new Starkey Edge AI hearing aid and told me her audiologist had recommended an Auracast TV transmitter for her home. We selected the "Chapel" audio broadcast on her phone, and within seconds she was hearing the meeting directly through her hearing aid. Her smile said it all.
This effort is personal to me. I've worn hearing aids since 2011, so I know what it's like to miss conversations, punch lines, and important moments.
I've also learned a great deal from audiologist Dr. Cliff Olson and his YouTube channel, which inspired me to become an advocate for Auracast. The more people ask for Auracast in churches, theaters, airports, gyms, museums, and other public places, the faster it will become available.
Auracast isn't just for people with hearing loss. Many people use earbuds or headphones connected to an audio broadcast to hear dialogue more clearly in noisy environments or to listen at a comfortable volume.
Our goal is simple: help more people discover Auracast so everyone can hear better.
